At GMAC we want you to be satisfied with your SmartLease experience from beginning to end and then all over again. You and your business are important to us!

SmartLease is a financing option in which you pay for the portion of the vehicle's value - depreciation -you expect to use over a period of time, plus a rent charge, taxes and fees.

You don't own the vehicle; you drive it for the lease term (determined by you and your dealer) and return it at lease end. You even have the option to purchase the vehicle at lease end.

Mileage Allowance is either 12,000 or 15,000 miles per year. You may select the SmartWay and arrange to have the mileage limits in your lease match your driving needs. It may be less expensive to increase the mileage limit at the beginning than it is to pay for extra miles at the end of the lease. You, the lessee, decide. If you purchase additional miles up front, you may be entitled to a refund of any unused additional miles at lease end. See the Mileage Options section for further details.

Maintenance is the responsibility of the lessee. Refer to the owner's manual for the recommended maintenance schedule. SmartCare is available from your GM dealer/retailer and provides basic maintenance such as lubrications, oil and filter changes and tire rotations. Wondering about early termination responsibility?You can terminate your lease early, however, you may have an additional financial obligation. Details of early termination are in your lease agreement. GMAC or your dealer/retailer can assist you.

SMARTLEASE monthly payments can be significantly lower than those of traditional financing.

Why? Because you only pay for the portion of the vehicle you expect to use during the lease term, plus a rent charge, taxes and fees. When your lease term is complete, you simply return the vehicle to your GM dealer/retailer and lease another vehicle, or exercise one of the other lease end options.

Plans

  • SmartLease: SmartLease is the standard leasing option available through GMAC. You have monthly payments to pay for the portion of the vehicle's value - depreciation - you expect to use over a period of time, plus a rent charge, taxes and fees.

  • SmartLease Plus: Does driving a new vehicle every few years, paying less money and eliminating the monthly payments sound like a "SMART" idea? If so, GMAC's SmartLease Plus may be right for you! You can lower the total out-of-pocket cost of your lease with a payment plan that lets you avoid monthly payments. This offers the flexibility to drive a new vehicle every few years. Sound good? There's more! SMARTLEASE PLUS also allows you to take advantage of trade-in allowances and many selected incentives and rebates, which can help reduce your out-of-pocket cost even more.

  • Low Mileage Lease: You don't drive 15,000 miles per year? No problem. If you typically drive 12,000 miles per year or less, GMAC also offers a Low Mileage lease. A Low Mileage lease offers an allowance of 12,000 miles per year. As a result of the expected lower usage, your lease payments are lower. It is important to select the mileage allowance that meets your driving needs. If the mileage on the odometer at lease end exceeds the total allowed mileage in your lease agreement, you are charged the excess mileage charge stated in your lease agreement.

Best of all, if you keep your leased vehicle until scheduled lease end, you may be entitled to a credit for each unused extra mile purchased.

  • Additional Mileage: Driving habits change during your lease? Regardless of which mileage allowance you choose, if you find that you are driving more miles than originally expected, you may increase your security deposit during the lease term. Billing Alternatives
  • Billing Statement: Receive a monthly billing statement that provides you with an account summary and messages pertaining to your account or leased vehicle. This is the standard billing method. Simply return the vehicle to your GM dealer/retailer. Now you're ready to select a new and exciting GM vehicle. It is as easy as that - no stress and no worries about resale. Your GM dealer/retailer assists you with the entire process.

If you've met the agreements of your lease, you will owe nothing more, and any security deposit remaining will be refunded to you.
